Decosup's First Annual Conference

What can we say? The conference went better than we ever expected and despite the horribly weather and icy conditions in Dallas that weekend, many people still showed up and participated. This conference was an eye opener that really highlighted the needs of decorative concrete contractors, their expectations from manufacturers and what they'd like to see in the future.

This meeting was about contractor networking and meeting their peers and most of the talks centered about troubleshooting and job handling. For two days we did nothing but talk about decorative concrete. We had contractors and speakers from The Concrete Network, Solomon Color, Engrave a Crete and Decosup do presentations addressing a wide range of subjects such as: business strategies to expand your company, choosing the best advertising medium, how to use concrete dyes to enhance your work and solve problems, an in depth look at sealers used in decorative concrete, stamped concrete techniques, concrete overlays and Q&A sessions.

In addition; we had round table discussions with people participating answering questions and sharing their experiences, one on one networking; where everyone got a chance to meet and talk with each other and share tips, strategies and knowledge. We also had a wonderful dinner and awards ceremony were we gave prizes to the best project of the year, best trainee of the year and best contractor of the year. In short; according to all the attending contractors they were very glad to have come, each walked away very happy and most said they will definitely come back next year.

I think it was a fantastic and very fulfilling experience. We feel that everyone that came went home happy to have been here and felt they learned something. The whole event had a very positive attitude and we will definitely repeat it next year (though we may need a much bigger place by them). I look forward the next conference and I can assure you all that it will be even better.

To all of those who couldn't come because of the weather or were not sure what it was about, I just want to say that even though you missed a good chance to learn more about the business and network with other contractors, we will repeat this event next year and we hope to see you all then.
